Vision of Global Days of Repentance

We believers in Jesus Christ all over the globe are seen by Him already as His chosen generation, a Royal Priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people (1 Peter 2: 9).

As members of His Royal Priesthood we can now act like Aaron, who, in the face of rebellion, took fire from the altar and ran into the midst of the assembly, standing between the dead and the living, so that  the plague was stopped. (Numbers 16: 46-48).

The Lord predicted plagues in these end times (Matthew 24: 7).  Today, to stop the plagues all nations face, the equivalent of fire from the altar is the contrite repentance of His saints. When you and I repent of our wicked ways and turn to Him,  the enemy is defeated; the plagues will stop.

The Lord Himself is allowing drought, locusts and pestilence among His people in all nations so that we will return to Him. (2 Chronicles 7:13).

David and Nehemiah confessed not only their own sins and but the sins of their families and their nation.   The Lord’s Word declares that He will hear from heaven, forgive their sin and heal their land “ if My people who are called by My name  will humble themselves , and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways….”   (2 Chronicles 7:14)…

Joining together through the Holy Spirit, across national boundaries, confessing our personal and national sins,  and individually repenting on a given day along with other believers, a type of modern day sacred assembly is effected, pleasing to the Lord.  If we rend our hearts, not our garments, and return to the Lord our God, He may relent from doing harm, and leave a blessing, given that He is slow to anger, and of great kindness. (Joel 2: 13-14).

Each global day of repentance moves us toward corporate repentance taking place in each nation on the planet as we turn away from our personal and national sins and return to His Way.

In God’s Timing, and as we obey His call to repent, “ All the ends of the world shall remember and turn to the LORD, And all the families of the nations  shall worship before You.  For the kingdom is the LORD’s, and He rules over the nations.”(Psalm 22:27-28).

The Risen Christ also sees us as His Bride (Ephesians 5: 25-30, who is to get herself ready (Revelation 19:7), arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, the righteous acts of the saints (Revelation 19: 8).

As part of that process, global days of repentance allows participants to experience the joy and freedom which follows the removal of old sin strongholds through the confession of sins and repentance.

Because He loves us so, the Risen Christ calls us to be zealous to repent, replacing old filters of His Truth, old sin patterns, with His Word. He wants us to be overcomers, to sit with Him on this throne as He overcame and sat with His Abba Father on His throne. (Revelation 3: 19-21).

The Lord favors and promotes this sanctification process, promising “that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. “(Ephesians 5: 27).

Another key aspect of each global day of repentance is intercession for a given nation.

1 Timothy 2:1-2 states: “ Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we  may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”  To this end, each participant in a global day of repentance is also invited, after any time spent in repentance, to intercede for a given nation.  The prayer points include a prayer that many in that nation will be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth.

Iniquity having been removed through repentance, these intercessory prayers will be heard and favored by the Lord. (Psalm 66:18; Isaiah 59: 2).  The effective, fervent prayers of a righteous man avails much. (James 5:16)

Intercessory prayer acts as a key part of the whole armor of God by which we are able to withstand in the evil day.  Among the key weapons He gives us, we are to pray with all perseverance for all saints (Ephesians 6:18).

By interceding for a given nation we are bearing their burden, fulfilling the law of Christ (Galatians 6: 2).

In this intercession the Holy Spirit will help in our weaknesses.  The Spirit Himself intercedes for us according to the will of God, making intercession for us with groanings which can’t be uttered.  (Romans 8: 26-27).

The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. (2 Peter 3: 9).

When we believers in Jesus Christ pray and ask in His Name, He will do it; and we can do even greater works that He did, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.  (John 14:12-14).

In the confession of sins/ repentance/ intercession process the Bride is strengthened; and we come closer to being of one accord, one mind, having compassion and love for one another; experiencing being called for this!   (1 Peter 3:8- 9).

After each global day of repentance our lamps will be filled with more oil (Matthew 25: 1-13). Growing in Christ, we will be that much more ready for His soon return as our Bridegroom. (John 14: 1-3)
